I have a Garrett 400i and was wondering if anyone else had one and put a NEL coil on and what your thoughts were. Did it improve your depth and pinpointing.
Thanks in advance

Personally I'm happy with the stock coil on my 400i however it is all down to personal preferences, some people are happy with an aftermarket coil but I believe the supplied OEM coil to be quite adequate.

I agree with 'JonM'
Perhaps this is true of the majority of machines these days. 9 to 11 inches seems to be the average size supplied with a machine, after which it's a larger coil to create a quicker coverage of area more than anything to do with depth capability.
In recent years, stock coil size has been certainly increased, perhaps to suit detector circuitry improvements. It's my belief that stock coil sizes have been determined after lengthy testing procedures so its a fair bet that they are going considered by the manufacturer to be the most efficient size as a general purpose tool.

Had my 400i about a year now with no upgrades and having plenty of fun with it. Had a few nice finds to keep me interested too!
