Hello The Fox - If there's no info on the Viking sub-forum, which you will surely have browsed, then perhaps winging an email off to Viking will bring the official answer. However, I would be surprised if a positive response was the outcome. Good Luck - Regards ss47 ::g

the vk30 had a beach mode , but not sure on the 10.
My son used the 30 once on the beach , was still too erratic I recall and we never tried it again .
Dry sand was fine ::g , it’s when you venture further towards the sea it became near impossible to use.
To be fair, regardless of its cost most non p.i detectors arnt good on wet sand

No No No

An old style analogue detector that doesn't have a manual ground balance will not work on most wet beaches.

salt is made in part with sodium which is metal and your detector will see it as a target. You can turn up the discrimination until it runs a bit better. But it will be so high that almost all good targets will also not give a signal

much better to read through the beach detector threads on here.

unfortainly beach detectors are a bit specilized. There isn't one new of the same money as the VK
