Faulty VK20...??

Post by Turkish1021 » Sun Mar 22, 2015 5:31 pm

i have bought a VK20 with a LCD display, i think it must be an early version, when i placed several items on the floor, 1p,2p,50p,£1, silver ring, steel chain etc to test it it shows all items as same on LCD display.
All show as reading 35 on the 1 to 99 scale, i have altered the sensitivity and the discrimination settings and its the same.
i placed a gold bangle down and it barely reads it.
upon switching to the 'beach' setting, it read nothing at all.

is this faulty or am i reading it wrong.
have replaced battery also

i have noticed that if i 'bounce the coil' over a silver object it then reads higher, but this seems intermittent

thanks
Steve

Hi, I'm not familiar with this machine but it could be a 'Ground Balance' problem. Hope you get it sorted ::g
A disservice is no service at all.
