Hi Im asking here as i own a Equinox 800. I owned a Fisher Fpulse pointer and it was faulty and to be honest it didn't work that well with the Nox. The vendor replaced it with a Tek Point pointer, same pinpointer different colour, and its awful to use with the nox. I think maybe because it's a PI
Pinpointer. Tried everthing i know to stop falsing turned to min setting, moving my detector well away before i turn it on, even tried noise cancel the nox when pointer is turned on. Im wasting more time stopping it falsing then looking for targets to be honest.
So my question is i need a honest answer from an Equinox owner before i go and waste another £100+ on a new pinpointer, can anyone recommend a pinpointer thats working well with the equinox. Im guessing Fred will have an answer

I have the pro find 25 pointer, no problem with my 800 Nox. I had an issue with the SWIMBO's Go Find 60, the 800 was causing major interference on the 60. I cured this by setting the 800 noise cancel at -7.
Primary, Equinox 800 (still learning)
Secondary, SWMBO with her Go-Find 60
Or should that be reversed.
Thirdly, X-Terra 705

My Minelab 35 and my Garrett carrot both work fine with my Nox. If the noise cancel can't catch the signal from the pinpointer, or any other source of interference for that matter, you can always try a manual noise cancel. Simply choose noise cancel using the Settings button then use the + or - buttons to find a quiet channel. If there isn't one they you are stuffed and may have to get a new pinpointer. I can't see why a pinpointer would interfere with all the channels though.

The Tek Point has 16 frequency shifts, all interfere with Nox when i cycle through them.

That is strange i use the Fisher Fpulse pointer with the equinox and i just do a a noise cancel with the f pulse turned on and i have no problems, although with this pinpointer being pulse induction you have to touch the nose to the ground as you switch on to ground balance it , which can
be a bit of a pain ...

After having my Nox now for a few weeks and using the supplied wireless phones,I purchased a jack adaptor so that I could plug in my Garrett Z-Lynk phones, they work great and I now can use my Garrett Z-Lynk Pointer with it.

Hi,
I have a Nox 800 and a Pro Find 35.
Although I am a newbie and I have only been out three times, it all seems perfect.
I am happy with the set up but will be more so when I make my first big find!

I use the pro find 35 no problems with the Nox, However if I'm honest I prefer the Garrett carrot which a friend has ( I used to have the garret pro 2 which I used until it was knackered, great item)

The Garret probes are easier to handle and feel better in the hand. The Pro-find 35 seems clunky but goes a little further and the discrim can be useful in some circumstances. A real swine is that the Pro-find holder doesn't fit on the military style webbing belt that I wear for detecting. Both detectors suffer from not being able to detect some of the very small fragments of metal that a Nox can pick up.
I usually use the Pro-find 35 these days as I have found somewhere for it to live but it doesn't worry me at all if I accidentally take the Carrot out with me.

I've got a 600, my Deteknix pulse induction PP interferes with my detector even if you switch the pointer on when you noise cancel, on the other hand my Makro and Chinese Garrett copy, which run around 12khz do not interfere.
I'd stay away from any pinpointer that operates on the pulse induction principle.

interesting
sounds like the OP problem isn't the pinpointer

My xpointer interfered badly with my 600, until I re noise cancelled with the xpointer turned on. If I recall it read 6 on the display after the second noise cancel.

I had this problem yesterday. But altering the noise cancel by one digit, stopped it.

Thanks for all the input guys. Finally got a working pointer as the Fpulse was deemed to be faulty in the end. Bought myself an XPointer and it works a treat, after noise cancel of course.
