Vert. + ribs, (don't get too excited)

Post by Keef the Frog »

After 14 years of looking I finally came up with my second marine reptile specimen last Autumn. We went to my fave Jurassic exposure near Longeville-sur-Mer as we'd had a monster storm but it hadn't scoured the sand off the beach. This turned up as we were heading back to the wagon, I was a bit chuffed & did the "Woohoo, it's not another ammonite dance" ::g . For scale it's sitting on top of a small wheely bin ;)

Well done and well spotted. Just shows how difficult it can be to find these things and even at the best places you need some luck.

There's not much left to see ;)
The big brown mark on the left is what's left of a very worn vert & the light brown stripes are what's left of some ribs.

Are you going to have a go at exposing more of the vertebra?
