Tiny flint piece.

Post by gjclayton »

Hello all.

I found this tiny piece in my neighbours garden in Kent.

Looks like a chip from a larger piece to me, with the bulb of percussion and dorsal/ventral face etc.

It also has slightly "worked" edges though, potentially, but maybe not.

Would something this small have a use and would someone bother to refine the edge?

Thanks so much.

Little struck blade / blade-like flake. Can't quite see if the edge in picture 1 is retouched or damaged - need some sharper pictures please.

I think the edges are just showing damage but the dorsal shows other removals. Typically these small blade pieces get a Mesolithic date. There should be more.

Thanks!

I'm keeping my eyes open for all these bits and pieces.

Appreciate it
