First time on first permission.
First time out on my first ever permission. I've only ever been out on club rallies and I must admit it felt a bit strange being on my own . But got an hour in . Bit boggy and then it started raining. Got a coin though so always happy ! George 3rd 1977. So hopefully there's a lot more to find. Farmers even given me my own parking space , and text to see how I'd done ! Glad I went and asked him now because it put me well outside my comfort zone .

Re: First time on first permission.
First time out on a new permission and finding a coin bodes well for your future searching
The date given of 1977 is obviously a typing error. Whatever the actual date is matters not, it's still a first coin on a first permission
Good Luck - Regards ss47

Congratulations on your new permission and your find, I hope you have lots more finds waiting there for you. I just got my own first permission, I haven't been out on it yet but very excited about doing so.

Well done on the permission and the coin David... always difficult to ask a stranger for a 'random favour', but face-to-face is always best (there are some nice and curious landowners out there). Nice chunky coins these, and same period as the legendary cartwheels, so we knew what you meant.Davidthomas wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 11:24 pmMy mistake says 1799 on the back ! Re: First time on first permission.
Well done on the permission and coin.
Regarding the parking space when getting a new permission its always well worth asking where the landowner would like you to park.
Just parking where you think is "sensible" might well not be, eg leaving a gap "with lots of room for people to drive through" might be fine for cars but no use what so ever for a big tractor and trailer!, likewise you do not want to leave your car where a large herd of cattle can rub against it every time they come in for milking!.
