Hello! About to start!

Post by atticjnr » Mon Jul 09, 2018 4:14 pm

Hi all,

I'm Dan - 28 and living in a village just outside of Bristol

Not yet got a machine but been reading loads and really keen to get going.

Thinking of going for a Garrett 250 and a NEL Tornado Coil if I really do enjoy it.

Look forward to chatting to you all! ::g

Welcome and good luck with choosing a detector. It can be confusing so feel free to add a post to the Garrett section if you have any questions on the different models in the Garrett range.

Hope you get one soon though. Look forward to hearing more from you ::g

Hey garrettoldboy - mostly not wanting to invest too much at this early stage. Especially as I currently have no permissions!

amr321golf - that's good to know - I'd imagine the 300i is equally as good if I'm on a lower budget (give or take a few features).

Oxgirl36 - thanks! I've just posted in there to ask a question so hopefully that gets approved and answered soon. With regards to posting - why do all my posts have to be approved before they appear? Is that because it's a new account? No issue - just curious! :)

Hey FUBAR - thanks! ::g

Hi bud,
before you get any permissions just head to the beaches for a quick detect.....plenty of coins around at this time of year,especially with the amount of people around due to the weather.
Good luck with whatever machine you choose

It’s just your first 5 posts. It’s the same for all new members. It’s mainly to ensure you aren’t a spammer. It’s surprising how many if those we get =))

hello, my reply was not to put you off buying what you wish, but looking at some previous research with those that had purchased a 250 plus a NEL coil, it does come out a bit more heavy on the swing, some even resorting to using a shoulder strap, also to note using with a NEL you get 50% more depth than a standard coil, yet a 400i with its PRO coil is a margin less depth which for a new person there is more to learn that a small loss of depth, i even have a EURO ace myself, good luck

Amazing - really appreciate the advice! Will definitely keep this in mind when I pull the trigger on a detector. Thanks oldboy!
