Hi, Been interested for what seems ages, aged 62 and only recently got a detector though :)
First farmer I asked for permission I got a yes :) , though I had farming connections, used to work on next farm as a young man. Fingers crossed as I sometimes deliver to farms, I suppose I could ask the question when I do. My daughters partner has been detecting for a while, so we might make a small family team lol.
Last Sat out on the farm, I soon found out my spade was about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, ground was like digging the road, really dry & hard, daughters chap managed better with pointed blade spade. Ordered one when I got home :-)

Now to try find other places or clubs, suppose a bit of searching in order at the weekend.

good luck guys
