Andy from York

Post by TheAndyA » Sun Jan 06, 2019 7:57 pm

Hi folks,

I'm Andy, I'm a Postman and I'm in my mid-fifties (where did those years go).

I joined the forum last week and I've spent the majority of my time just browsing through some of the posts here. Lots of interesting info!

I haven't had much to say so far, as I don't even own a detector at this stage. Hopefully though, I'll be picking up a used Garrett AT Pro International tomorrow. I don't have any permissions at this stage, so no doubt my back garden will be getting dug up in the near future. [:)

I started watching Metal Detcting videos on Youtube a year or so back (TerraGermania mainly), along with some UK videos and gradually my interest has got the better of me. My main hobby is Photography, Landscapes & Nature stuff mainly.

I'm the quiet type, but I hope to eventually get to meet some of you.

Hi Andy a warm welcome! After stopping knocking on all sorts of doors over the years, maybe its time to start again on some farmers doors? You must have encountered many of them in your work? Thanks for a great Intro about yourself and good luck with everything, plenty of advice in all those topics in the Menu, including selecting a good machine in General Chat, cheers, Liam ::g

Thanks for the reply Liam.

I do know several farmers on my rural delivery, they're mostly tennant farmers, so that makes it less straight forward. No harm in asking though.

Hi Andy,

A few months ago , that was me .
In my spare time out walking with my camera taking nature and landscape photos - which I still enjoy.

However … Metal detecting can be addictive, and now my camera often gets side lined for the detector ! ;'h - There again , so does the house work etc ! rl; :D

Let's hope your Garrett brings you as much enjoyment as mine has to me . Do keep us posted on how you get on.
