Had two mornings borrowing a generous friend's machines but that was enough to get me hooked. Bought an Equinox 800 and had one day on the beach and one day in some pastureland which produced my first hammered coin. I'm going to try to load it on the identification forum if I can master the photo loading process.
Looking forward to spending a lot more time detecting. Glad to have found this site with so many enthusiastic members.

A hammered in so short a time since starting up? Good on yer. Some spend years seeking their first and it sounds like your land could hold much promise for the future.
Enjoy the forum and look forward to seeing your finds.
Some sort of electrical gubbins(I'm told it's a Deus). In various colours

Re loading up an ID topic, make sure you read the Hammy Code guidelines and drop me a message if you need any help in getting the pics together, correct scale etc.
Good luck, Liam
I do feel lucky to have found the hammered. I think it could be a QE1st penny but not sure which issue. Think I will do a little research for the enjoyment then post a request if I struggle.
