Hi Liam

Please include me provisionally for camping for the duration, although I'm still a bit unsure about the facilities - I can't envisage going three days without a proper shower.... Have made alternative enquiries though so if you can't guarantee facilities I'll book at a nearby C & C Club site.

Finds tent? I have a 10 ft diameter pop-up 'Screen House' (Quest Elite 6) - is that big enough?

Regards

Yes, we are still taking entries, there is perfect concrete parking for a caravan, may be looking for a shower if you have one! The paypal link is info@ecmd.eu and let me know on here when you have made payment, include your username on the payment for me to tick off, cheers, Liam

I will try to rig up some sort of shower, have bought some camping showers that work on gravity but I have yet to try them out. There are some caravanners attending who could perhaps be bribed with a early morning bacon roll in return for 30 seconds under the hot water ..
Yes, please bring that pop up, we can always put it to good use.
Local camping facilities - I have not checked these out, so maybe others will report back with details for others to follow up.

The solar showers (basically a heavy black pouch that warms up with the sun) are less than£10 and work great. You just need a shower tent and you'll be laughing. If it's very cold and not sunny you can always use water from the kettle topped up with cold ::g

I think thats what I got from Ebay, may try it out in the garden later and scare the neighbours .... we need some sunshine but us detectologists are inventive and hardy people! Liam =))

Hi Liam - you may have missed this post from FullTimer on Saturday -

viewtopic.php?f=35&t=92281&start=140#p839581

Very useful, particularly for member of the Camping & Caravanning Club etc. - there are good small sites dotted all over the place within easy reach of Stratton Strawless.

Well, its still sort of Summer and many places may be busy but there does seem to be some good local facilities that would be better than the hard ground, though camping means that you don't have far to walk after a few drinks .. have yet to check out The Fox pub. Fingers crossed for the weather .... Liam :D

The Fox is a pretty good pub or was when I last used it, it did change to more of a food orientated pub supposed to be very good. The shame is they did used to have their own 5 van site. Another pub near to where you will be is the Hainford Chequers also known for it's food. I did mention a few sites there are also a couple more nearby, Pound Farm and Cobbleacre fishing lakes ( I think they still do camping), another site at Hevingham Lakes. All these I think are either Caravan Club CL sites (no tents) normally, or Caravan and Camping Club CS sites these also allow tents. I know the Milestone one also has a shower / Toilet as does the one we are staying on Chestnut Farm, not sure about the others.
