Just so you know they work on the principal that your place is confirmed only after they’ve received a cheque and you’ve had a confirmation email.

I’ll chase Mike to see if he’s now releasing full details for everyone for this dig yet ::g

And is Mike still willing to accept PMs from interested parties? I'm booked already but just thinking of Connor and others who might be keen.

I’m afraid I know nothing more than you do on how Mike prefers to accept enquiries on this dig but he’s normally a super fast responder. He’s opened my PM so I bet we get an update soon :D

Hope to see you there too, Cath (and the other usual suspects) The Anton website says that all details 'will be' posted on the MDF forum.....Mike's no doubt a busy man but I'm sure it will be posted in full in good time :)

Re: Anton Rotary Club WEEKEND Rally SEPTEMBER 1st & 2nd 2018

Post by irons4mike » Mon Mar 19, 2018 7:10 pm

Hi Guys,
I've been a bit tied up over the last few weeks, so again apologies for not keeping you totally in the picture.

Tony, our club treasurer, has emailed everyone who has attended an Anton Rotary Club rally in the past and who has given him their email address. He has already received confirmed attendance of over 70 for each day, so with a maximum of 200 detectorists per day and a total of 180 acres to detect, there are still plenty of places available.

We will be based at a pub with an adjacent campsite just outside Andover.

As before we will offer hot food and refreshments, including breakfast on Sunday morning and free tea and coffee all weekend. We hope that as many detectorists as possible will join us in the pub on Saturday evening for a meal and some live music.

We will limit numbers to 200 per day, and we will ensure that fresh fields are offered each day.

The cost per day is £12.50, so two days is £25.00. If you want to camp on the Saturday night the cost will be £45.00 which will include the two days detecting and breakfast on Sunday. (Camping will be available on Friday evening at an extra £7.50, breakfast on Saturday morning is NOT included.
We have to pay the campsite owner for the exclusive use of the site for the weekend, hence the higher than previous cost of camping.

If you would like to attend please send you cheque, made out to Anton Rotary Club, to Rotarian Tony Lynn, 4 Red Rice Rd, Upper Clatford, Andover. SP11 7PU. You must stipulate which day or days you are booking (and if camping is required) and PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS and Telephone number.
As before, confirmation will be by email.

If you haven't been to one of our rallies before I can promise you a warm and friendly welcome, we will do our utmost to provide land that is easy to detect, in an area that is steeped in history..Can't guarantee the finds, but our digs usually throw up something with a Wow factor.

Let me know if there is anything I have missed. :-/

Cheers Mike ::g ::g

Just wondering roughly where the rally will be as I'm trying to figure out if it's too far to travel to? Also would there be any charge for an 8 year old to attend who will probably only detect for a few minutes until he gets bored and then help me!?

Thanks

The Rally is close to Andover in Hampshire. My daughter lives in Norwich and it takes me around 3-31/2 hours (195miles) given reasonable traffic.
Your son will be most welcome at no charge. If you decide to come. Mention this to Tony when you send your remittance.
Cheers

Is there another way of booking/paying? I don't think I've seen my Cheque book since 2007...

Thanks!

I have not been on any of your rallies yet. Kinda new to detecting and would love to join that weekend. Could you let me know how can I book for it if there are any places left?

Thank you

Hi Guys,
I’ve been asked by a number of people if we have an alternative method of payment.

We would be happy to accept BACS payments but would ask that anyone who would like to pay in this way emails Tony Lynn our treasurer at amjlynn@aol.com first, he will then email you back with a unique reference number to quote when making the payment.

Incidentally we have plenty of places left for both days and plenty of camping places as well.

Thanks for all your support 👍😀

All sorted now, It looks like Shaun put his cheque through the wrong letterbox, fortunately the householder forwarded it on to Tony Lynn.
I’m sorry Shaun if you felt I was ignoring your post, I was away for the weekend in my motorhome and had virtually zero internet. I dealt with it as soon as I got home on Sunday afternoon.

Hi Bargeman
The pub food is second to none and is available each evening.
I have also just arranged for some musical entertainment in the pub on the Saturday evening, two guitar/vocalists, 1guy, 1gal, so I hope that as many as can make it will join us for a pint or two. 🍺🍷🍺👍
