Hello Janner
It was advertised in the Searcher and locally. PM me if you need a contact number. I’m moving house this weekend so now can’t make it, gutted.
Cheers Nick

Hi Nick, thanks for your reply. I see there is a contact number above for this rally. Was pleased to here it was advertised elsewhere. I just wanted to check as its a good one and a half hours drive for me, not too bad, but not on my doorstep. I just might make contact to see if there is a space for tomorrow.
Shame you can't make it, good luck with your house move

Wish I lived nearer, I hope everyone had Lady Luck hovering overhead today.
Quote "All proceeds to go to Meningitis Research Foundation" I am impressed by that as some events state all PROFITS to charity and thats completely different!
Good luck for tomorrow, hope lots of money is raised for this very worthy cause, Liam

Well done Mike and his team. Through all the sweat and long hours, early starts and late finishes, handing over some much needed cash to a worthy charity makes you warm inside. Its these fundraising events that later on down the line result in some tragedy not happening in someones life. So Mike and the rest will be unsung heroes. But not unsung on here! Liam

Went to this event yesterday and would like to say how impressed I was;
The organisation was superb - excellent maps of the many fields we could detect in, advice, banter and free lifts from Ski and co and GREAT catering - I had a yummy sausage bap and a cuppa, and FLO was there too. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and I'm in the process of trying to find out if there's a way myself and 3 others can get on a list to be informed about upcoming digs.
Wish I'd known about SKI's digs before now!
Best to everyone

Totally agree with the post above from JoyH, an excellent rally. Myself, I had a bacon and egg bap before the off
This was my first Ski dig and what a character he is, a really friendly down to earth bloke. As said the rally was top notch with more land than we could handle. Will deffo attend another of his digs.
So thank you Ski and his team for a wonderful rally

Re: Allowenshay, Somerset Weekend Rally 29th & 30th September
Just want to add my thanks too; as a newcomer to detecting this was my first rally. It was very well organised, everyone was friendly and helpful - thanks particularly to Nige from the Welsh detecting club for advice on how to set up my Safari.
I came away from the event with my first good finds - a Victorian penny and several buttons (two "Treble Gilt Stand Colour", one with a fair bit of the gilt still on - you can imagine how excited I was when I saw the gold colour shining out of me from the hole!), and one very thin metal disc that looks pretty unidentifiable to me but which I will probably post on here for opinions as it may be an early coin of some kind.
So thank you to Ski and the landowner - I came away with a real buzz and excitement for my next day detecting!
