Hi folks these events have been popular in the past.

The Weston Historical Research And Detecting Association (WHRADA) will be attending as with their previous events.

I attended one of their previous digs, was ok,but this one detecting time of only 6 hours plus rape stubble would put me off.Good luck and thanks for posting.

Hi Jungle,

Not sure, but in the past a couple of favourite ones of theirs were the Samaritans and riding for the disabled.

Other than that you will have to ask the organisers.

WHRADA of whom Iam member are attendees, just like any of the other detectorists enjoying a day out with folks of like mind.

Happy Hunting.

Hi to you all,

These days we are spoiled for choice with rallies taking place everywhere.

WHRADA and friends from other clubs hope to see as many as possible at this traditional style Rally on the day.

There are still tickets available if you can make it.

Happy Hunting,

Jerry.

Hi Steve,

There are still some places available just follow the Advert at the head of this thread.

You will then receive a ticket and idiots guide on how to get there.

On arrival you will get a nice coloured map of the fields available AM and PM.

This is a family farm and their charity event. The farmer and friends lay on the refreshments etc.

Happy Hunting,

Jerry.

What a super day out at a tradition style rally of yesteryear.

No commercial aspects just the land owner and friends making sure we all enjoyed ourselves and charity benefiting.

We were greeted with bacon rolls and hot drinks and homemade cake for those with little will power.

Then came the pre dig briefing and the good news was that much of the cereal stubble had been plowed and and the fields rolled and seeded.

We were on trust to leave the fields as we found them and it worked out fine as there were only around 50 active detectorists who turned out for the dig.

That gave folks about 3 .5 acres each to detect.

Hammerds, Roman and other coins surfaced not for getting artifacts going back through the centuries.

Quite a few newcomers to our hobby attended and their eyes were opened to what detecting can still be like under the right conditions and organisation.

So there you have it, roll on next year and if Iam still here as I will be 85 by then, myself and WHRADA members will be at the front of the Queue. ;) ::g

Happy Hunting,

Jerry.
