How does let’s go digging work.

Post by chip » Thu Jul 12, 2018 8:14 pm

I was registered to go to one of there digs last weekend and when the dig was looming I still had not received any dig info from them so messaged them. Did not hear anything from them so the dig date came and went and I did not attend as I had no idea how to,and I don’t know if it went ahead or was cancelled. Now I am registered for one not this weekend but next and I don’t want to miss this one so how does it normally work?

Once registered for a dig do they contact you with details nearer the time or have i done something wrong?

Are they still even in business as I haven't been able to get on their website for about a week?

They have a new website, it’s .co.uk instead of .com

So they have rl;

Think they put the postcode up the night before on the relevant dig page so you know where to go ::g

The post code is normally up on the web site of the dig u are going on the night before ...lets go digging is changing at the moment and you need to be a member to go to there digs they have a new web site too....letsgodigging.co.uk .... ive been on 5 or 6 of there digs pry to the change and they where all well organised some with catering and toilets ....Chris struggles to answer all the faceache etc questions when a dig is advertised he gets say 400 questions !so it can be a slow reply....check on new web site for more details .... good luck ::g

I contacted Chris the other evening using the contact email on the new site, and I had a reply before the homing pigeon had even settled on the perch. I find them to be very proffesional, and enjoy attending their digs.

The new website is good too ::g

I don’t do Facebook, so does that leave me at a disadvantage on getting info?
Do you know what happened to the Warminster dig bargeman?

If you're registered on the new website www.letsgodigging.co.uk you don't need Facebook - just log in to the LGD site, view events and register for them as before - the new website just looks a lot different to the old one. You can't use the old website www.letsgodigging.com any more.

I Agree with Bargeman - the LGD team have a professional approach - no guarantee that their digs will produce the goods of course, but in my experience always an enjoyable day out.

I went to Warminster, it was just too hot for me, someone found a complete stone, bronze smelting setup a couple of feet down in a field, it even had some melted bronze with it ::g
