The land we had in mind was perfect and the pre visit was great. However that land then became unavailable as the landowner changed his mind. :(
I have been in contact with several forum members who thought they could help out with land but nothing has come through. I contacted at least 100 landowners via emails to see if we could use their land but nothing solid so far.
Unless we can find land of our own for around September/ October, then we may have to "piggy back" a good Rally and all meet up there instead. At least we would have a kind of get together.
I will get back on this in about two weeks time, but in the meantime if any forum member out there thinks he/she has land that we could use, then please contact me asap.

After about 1000 miles of travel and chatting with lots of people all over the UK, we still have not found a suitable place to hold the 2013 Forum Dig.
There has been a big turnover of forum members in the past year and some of them may have some land that could be used. So if anyone DOES have some land that we can use for 2013, PLEASE let me know asap. What we need is;
About 150 acres of land, preferable ploughed but stubble or pasture is still ok.
Would be over 2 days.
Limited to 50 forum members each day.
Proceeds to whatever charity the landowner decides and a reasonable amount of running costs.
Would be good around November time when there should be some ploughed land.
I am available to visit anyone, anywhere and chat things through.
Plan B will be for us to piggyback a Rally somewhere, but I am hoping some member will be able to help out, cheers, Liam :;@ X:) X:) X:) X:) X:) X:) X:) X:) X:)

Hi Liam, just want to air my thanks for all the work you have being doing in the backround to try organise another forum dig for 2013.
My personal experience of the 2012 forum dig will stay with me for a very long time, didn't find anything of importance but I met a lot of wonderful people and had a ball.
I appreciate the amount of effort it took by all involved to pull the last one off and hope that things work out.
Take care
Ger.

Thanks Ger, much appreciated. Lets hope we find some land. I have had one possible offer from South Devon but its a bit too far for most of the members, might be good for a special event later on though for nutters like myself who travel anywhere! Liam X:)

Thanks, somewhere out there is a forum member with lots of land that could easily raise £1500 or more for a worthwhile charity....... the problem is finding him/her!

All the work you all put in trying for permission to organise a forum dig is very much appreciated. ::g :D ::g

I have my own permission but was told only myself and occasionally one other person. The farmer is quite strict on this. :(

I'm just sad i can't help out on getting land for a forum dig as it would be great to meet you all, especially doing what we all enjoy so much!
