Still plenty of spaces, NCMD/FID cards need to be shown. Plenty of time for anyone to get the NCMD membership and we should all be members anyway as they work tirelessly on our behalf to protect our hobby.
NCMD -https://www.ncmd.co.uk/insurance/
FID - http://www.fid.org.uk/ They are having problems with issuing memberships inside three weeks, so its NCMD really if you need insurance in time.
Overseas participants.. Im ensured by my house and stock ensurance.. How should I prove the insurance.. ? Covered for all incidents caursed by me,, ::g
Interesting question there Liam - what cover do your overseas guests have?

Hi Phil - re the lack of NCMD/FID cover from overseas visitors. Last year I set out to source an affordable Public Liability cover for the Irish detectorists as I am lobbying for that group to have better detecting laws - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyY-BR2Ji-k and eventually I did manage to find around six different insurers. I shared that info with our other European friends and they now have access to their own PL cover that extends across European borders.
Maps of the land - my good friend Godfrey has produced some top class maps for each day and I will include them in a Fact Sheet that will be sent out soon so that people can know where they will be detecting and do some research. I also found a different pub that may be nearer then The Fox - https://www.google.co.uk/search?tbm=lcl ... 266!4f13.1 its more of a straight drive I think.
Cheers, Liam :;@

having just looked at some recent reviews the Chequers might be one to forget, shame really as it used to be a great place to eat. Oh by the way Liam I might also be able to make the Sunday now if OK.

Thanks Liam
We will be bringing our camper van so perhaps we could also park on the heavy vehicle hard standing? It's 4 tones so just a bit bigger than a tent!

Thanks again
Look forward to meeting everyone

That parking is no problem.
Pubs - http://www.hainford-chequers.co.uk/food ... -starters/ this is the one fulltimer mentioned. I am actually sitting in The Fox pub - http://www.thefox-hevingham.co.uk/our-gallery/
The Fox have asked that anyone intending to have a meal on the Thurs, Fri and especially Sat night, book ahead to reserve a place. Same goes for The Chequers they say. They also say that The Chequers is within walking distance of where we are detecting ::g ::g
We can still grab a drink there as usual, its just the food that needs to be reserved. They both seem to have a good menu.

That's great - It just struck me that the NCMD and the ECMD should be able to knock together a good deal with insurers, as the hobby increasingly involves international travel. Many thanks for the comprehensive reply - hope you're enjoying the coffee - probably needs a shot of Jamesons though.

I spent a full year negotiating all kinds of deals on PL cover, a real minefield. The NCMD and FID cover does not extend beyond the UK and their broker was unhelpful, but after many months of tracking down the actual people that work in that business I was able to get some really good deals that the Irish side have benefited from at least.
The coffee was good .. I had a girlfriend who lived within a stones throw of both the Guinness brewery and across the road was Jameson distillery, the smell of the brewing was very widespread and heavy, but nobody complained .. =))
Chairs - we are always short of chairs for tired legs, so if you have any spare garden chairs please bring them along, plus any fold up tables and even a spare sleeping bag in case someone is without.

Be carefull Liam doesn't keep you in the pub until late on the Friday night,
At the forum dig in Leicestershire a couple of years ago, the pub was only 15 minutes walk away, but it took us about an hour to get back after a good few pints of the local ales & ciders,
Plenty had a sore head on the Saturday morning!
It was a great rally & get together.

ha ha ha ha I remember that SHORT walk there and a much LONGER one back in the pitch dark. Looks like we have a similar pub on this event. I don't think I will manage to get home at night and may be scrounging a 20 secs shower off some luxury caravan or similar in the morning before I start off the ECMD Conference action in Norwich. My X-Trail will serve as a comfy camp ... I-) I-)
I have two solar showers that may or may not work in September, may experiment tomorrow.
If anyone has any spare gear to sell or swap then bring it along as someone may buy it.
Everyone - don't forget to bring spare clothing, batteries, water, emergency food, sun cream (perhaps) insect cream, USB chargers, bottle opener =)) toilet roll for portaloo just in case, spare machine maybe, in fact stuff a large bag full of everything .. ::g
I will be on site from 1pm on the Thursday, so please no arrivals before then as it will upset the farmer who has to move farm equipment around for us in advance.
Looking forward to meeting everyone, might be a good idea for us all to make up some name tags so that we know who is who?
Laura is now doing the Fact Sheet and so she will soon be making an announcement ..

Hi Liam, John (Danzigman) and I will be camping. I have a lot bigger tent this time as I am getting to old to crawl in and out of that tiny one I had last time. I only hope the car will survive the load of gear and beer we will be bringing with us.

Talking of beer I always thought you were a Stella man Liam https://youtu.be/1-uKOH-BQQ0 =))

Looking forward to meeting friends old and new.
