Bet you’ve not noticed have you?

Post by Oxgirl36 » Tue Jan 23, 2018 9:13 pm

I’ve coerced Mrix into introducing a 2018 calendar. Well I begged actually but I probably didn’t need to as he was happy to oblige and has even created a link that is on every page.

Look up here u;@ ( next to clubs and below Quick Links) and you’ll see the Rallies 2018 link.

Now it’s a bit sparse at the moment so we need your help getting it better populated. We’d like to publicise charity rallies mainly as we know you love them but commercial rallies can be included.

So what are you waiting for? Know anyone organising a dig? Or spotted one advertised? Please send me an email and I’ll get it included.

Thank you ::g

Well done Oxgirl and Mrix. Excellent resource and no excuse for missing a rally (unless you forget to inform MDF 😂😃😂)

Thanks for the 'heads up'.
Noticed that the Feb 4th rally at Middlewich isn't listed yet tho'.

Ipad with the latest iOS whatever that is and Safari and I don’t see it anywhere. Any other iPad user experiencing the same or should I take myself off to Specsavers?

Edit: Doh! I was looking for a yellow arrow not the words 'Rallies 2018'. Off to Specksavers it it.

Well done C for getting this going (and Mrix for doing it!) - what's the protocol - if we hear of a rally do we email you / Mrix as suggested, or just post it on here?

In case we miss it on here you would be best to message either or both of us then we’ll see it straight away.

Of course you are also welcome to post loads more detail on a new post in the Rally section too. We’ll put basic info in the calendar and a link to the detail in the post too. But this isn’t essential. I just don’t want you all to feel you can’t start a new thread on an event if you want to. It’s all always nice to link a thread to the calendar though, so anyone considering going can see who else is going and discuss whatever needs discussing ::g

Could well be a "social media group" with a very similar name?
Is MHF registered as intellectual property? That is the only way to stop "impersonation".

May have been a mistake on the name (I found this one from somewhere, will need to check my notes) but assume it is your group. I’ll get it removed.

But don’t panic anyone I don’t think any names have been stolen ::g

That aside...... great idea about the rally link....... but i would like to see a breakdown of "whats what" provided by the organisers/advertisers.
Something like:
Ticket Price: £20 (£15 to landowner/£5 for organiser/expenses) or "100% of ticket price to relative charity".
A little bit about expected ground conditions (I know that is weather dependent, I organise enough up here!), acreage & number of tickets available.
That way there is some clarity/information for attendees and they know what they are getting & where their money is going.

We are providing a list of potential rallys and as much details as we know.
It is up to you to look into the finer details of said rally
One thing we will not become is a kicking post for anyones problems or greviences with the rallys.
Remember, we all volunteer on this forum and dont have time to contact people and ask all those questions, only to then get slated by a couple of people who didnt think the rally lived up to their expectations.

I did a search, was mainly worried about someone trying to scam someone with a similar name to ours. I know all the clubs in Kent as there are a lot, and not heard of that one.

Also we normally have a Rally that month, but we only hold them on good ground, we would rather not bother if a quite site. I also didn’t want loads of emails coming in asking for event details when we haven’t even sorted one yet. We are not a commercial group so give our time accordingly.

I think some of the issue with people not providing details of open digs is that the vast majority are either "commercial" or Facebook groups and every time any of these get mentioned there are a certain small number of people on here that will immediately attack them. So people are rightly (IMHO) reluctant to make a post that they believe will attract negative responses.
