J&R Sniper spade discontinued?

Post by Euro Detector » Tue Oct 03, 2017 8:11 pm

I was looking to buy a new high-quality spade and was looking at the J&R Sniper spade and the Evolution NT Spade. I can't find the Sniper spade on the MDF auction site, has it been discontinued? Would be happy to receive some advice. ::g

Thats really sad. I considered both spades and went for a JR one and it's brilliant quality. Real shame.

I'm considering the new Black Ada Spartan spade in bright red... then I can be the idiot in the field with the red spade and the orange vibrator ;-)

Just taken delivery of my Evolution NT spade, which I bought through MDF Shop. I had it made 950 overall instead of the standard 830mm. It is a very strong and well made spade. The customer service and delivery time were excellent. ::g

I still own and use the very original prototype 'Sniper' spade,i suggested it too Jeff and it went into production,as i understand it they no longer produce detecting digging equipment which is a shame, the sand scoop[ that they made will last a lifetime.

Think i have about 6 or 7 various diggers that they made for me,will certainly outlast me for sure =))
Some of the machines that i use Deus,TDI Pro,Nexus MP,Nexus SE,Fisher TW-5 twin box,DFX,T2,IDX Pro,Mirage Pulse,Crossbow Pulse,Trident11 Extreme

As far as I am aware they were meant to of stopped production and their company JR Stainless folded :-/

Hello all, just an update back from jeff and mucky to say there were a few products left over before the welding kit and other tools were sold off but I can confirm the JR stainless business is most definitely folded.

Apologies mrix only seeing this now . I did purchase direct from them and tbh the whole process was a little slow as initially it was supposed to be for a birthday present back in august and I only got sorted out recently . Your explanation helps shed a bit of light on maybe why the process was so slow . In fairness to JR stainless once they got the materials they were waiting on the process was very quick and the workmanship and build quality is second to none . Feel privileged now I may have bought one of the last spades they made .

Hi Gixer08, it is a shame, for a moment there I thought they had started back up! their scoops and spades and other digging tools were very well made and of high quality, I specifically like the sniper spade and own one myself ::g
