Extension for 400i

Post by Sir Upanotch » Mon Jul 16, 2018 8:14 am

Hello there,

Does anybody know if there is an extension for the 400i handle? My cup rests half way up my forearm and I would like it to be much closer to my elbow as currently after 2-3 hours my arm aches like hell (I usually just swap arms)

I have tried searching on line but have drawn a blank.

Has anybody seen one?

hello, i have an euro ace mine sits about right but i do not detect often, very easy to do with a few tools, you can buy short lengths of ally tube on ebay, measure the internal tube on the shaft i found it was 16mm on mine but check yours, then buy a piece of tube that fits internal, and buy same that fits over, if you understand, then just make an extension like that on the video with your 2 pieces of tube, you can glue together then just slot in and drill new holes, where the new tube goes past old holes and new tube extends spray black. hope you understand, good luck

I might give it a go. I'm not too hot with metal. prefer wood, but I feel wood might be a draw back :D

Thanks a lot

If anyone decides to make one of these extension handles for a Garrett Ace,
Please send me a message and I would buy one from you staight away
The you tube video on the Garrett Gizmo is definitely worth a look for all you Garrett owners out there [:)

I was thinking of having a go at making one from wood too
I looked at the gizmo before but can't find it for sale anywhere in the uk
I think the original was made in the USA
Seen a few other forums with other ideas too but the above idea of glueing two sizes of tune together doesn't sound too bad and would be easy to do, saves having to sand/lathe etc

Did it!

Found hardwood dowel in the garage, slightly too big (perfect) tapered the end down a bit then slowly pushed and turned it in, extremely tight fit, drilled new hole, cup back on, trimmed dowel, perfect! might add a bit of insulating tape later but that's the cheapest project I've ever done. ::g

hello, lots of good ideas are set up and made in the USA but many only have a short production life for what ever reason, and most will not post outside the USA,

Yeah noticed that too but then postage from USA is expensive anyway
Need to make an exetention tho for my euroace cos it's really hard on my arms
The wife has a ace 250 but her arms are shorter than mine and the arm rest sits ok on her arm
I have to swap arms a lot ( suffer with fibromyalgia and arthritis)
