Evolution 360 sand scoop

Post by chip »

I have received my evolution 360 sand scoop (basket only) today and it looks very sturdy indeed.
I am expecting the evolution SS D handle tomorrow for it.

My question is how did you join the two, the scoop has a small hole drilled in the back (slightly off center) which you would use to fix a wood screw if using a broom handle, but how do you fix the stainless handle to the stainless scoop.

Are the tolerances such that wedging the handle in is good enough or are further fixings required.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, thanks mrix.
I bought this scoop shaft combo after watching your video on YouTube of you and your friend Richard on that seriously hardpacked stony beach.

A few questions if you don't mind. Did you drill a second hole adding an extra screw?
Does the shaft come with self tapping screws? If not did you use countersink or pan head screws?

Thanks again.

Hi I found with mine that the spigot join was a really nice tight fit, The screw would be to
Stop the scoop rotating, the scoop would certainly not fall off without a screw.
From what I can remember the screw come with it.
It's a really lovely scoop which works perfectly albeit a little on the heavy side which is
quite the norm for these types of scoops.
You would certainly not want to be without it once used.
