NEL Tornado 12 x 13 coil.

Post by rossm » Sun May 03, 2015 2:45 pm

Purchased a NEL Tornado 12" x 13" coil a few months ago. Use it with my Minelab 705. The Tornado coil worked really well for 4 months....and I have to say, that it is superb at finding deep, small targets. However, one day out in the field, it just suddenly stopped working. Returned it to the suppliers Regton in Birmingham who were not able to get it working properly again either. In fairness to Regton, no hassle replacement with a new one. Anyone else had NEL coils just stop working? [:)

I have both the tornado and hunter no problems thus far , I must admit they are cracking coils
Although the 18khz does nothing the 7.5 kHz tornado cannot do .

Good to hear Regtons stepping up again good for them .

I also use a Nel Tornado coil on my EuroAce and find it to be ok and have had no problems with it. I was recently told that Nel coils can be a bit hit and miss but thought the guy was trying to persuade me to consider buying from an alternative producer.

I have also found Regtons to be a first class company, who also provided me with first class backup and service for other equipment that I purchased from them. ::g

Have to agree Paul. Regtons excellent ....no quibbles, no humming or harring. Straight replacement.

Hi,

I'm considering getting one of these coils for my AT Pro.
Do they improve the overall performance of detecting?
Are there any disadvantages for them, opposed to the standard supplied coil?

Thanks for any responses in advance.

As alternative for the Nel you can also consider this one :-)
