It’s a brilliant digging tool. Strong, well built and beautifully designed. After 3 years I had to replace the rubber grip. Wasn’t that bad to be honest but I wanted mine to look new again and they cost about £3.

Honestly don’t hesitate. For the money you won’t regret it. It’ll last a lifetime ::g

I would say they are pretty much bombproof expect for the rubber handle covering as already noted.

The bombproof construction does make them a bit on the heavy side though...

very strong and i got 1 with a short handle (22ins)which was modified after crawfords organised it with a rapid delivery as well ..

thick gauge metal so i doubt you would break it or bend it

Hi,

Think the Makers of the evolution are on forum

Could you not include a drilled hole on the handle spine for attaching safety strap, chain, etc ?

As first thing I will need do is drill - unless I missed its already there

Let me know

Paul

I never saw the need for a lanyard, it would make it uncomfortable and cumbersome in use.
Should it be left at the last find spot, the chances are you'd soon spot it and as a back-up to eyes only, you've got a detector so.... ::g Regards ss47

One attached with a bag tie works well though if you do want one :D i left one once in longish grass - got it back 6 months later when I detected it =)) That’s why I now have the bright handles :D

Hi, Does the MDF shop have stocks of the old or new handles ?

I like the profile of the new handle it looks likely to be more comfy in the hand

Hence the one I am sure I want

let me know

The shop lets you talk directly to the sellers so you can ask them the question ::g

The rubber handle goes at the top, but the stainless steel blade is bomb proof!

I lost my first Evolution Extreme trowel, so recently purchased a new one. I have to say that I didn't get on with the new style handle, it felt too fat and wide compared to the old one. It might interest anyone with one of these that a standard mountainbike handlebar grip will fit the trowel.

This is the new style grip (on the left, removed) and the mountainbike handlebar grip that I fitted which does the job much better for me.
