MDF Auction - Metal Detecting Spades
Just picked this doo-dad up in Homebase today for £6.99. It seems quite sturdy, stainless blade, saw edge and something on the side that could maybe open a beer bottle (ahem). I'll probably hacksaw off the double prong on the end in favour of a spear tip. We'll see how it goes. I've got more pics if anyone's interested.
I never thought that the prongs could prevent potential finds damge, so I'll leave them as is and see how I get on. I actually haven't used one of these before, but I think something like this can be less intimitdating to show potential landowners when you're trying to get permissions in more "manicured" areas.
