Wireless headphones - worth the upgrade?

Post by paulb2180 » Thu Apr 12, 2018 7:08 pm

Are wireless headphones worth the upgrade? I see the potential comfort but is the quality as good as standard? Thanks for any help

depends on what you buy, bluetooth is a no no because of the delay, if you have a detector like the racer, deus,kruzer etc you would never go back to wired, well i wouldnt anyway ;)

I use the deus and the wirless headphones that comes with it makes using the detector a lot easier to use in forests and in branches at the same time i do not have to disconnect the headphones each time i dig, ears free so to speak -=+:-P

What detector are you using which might help out others in responding.

Good luck ::g

I use the z-lynk with my ace 400i and I absolutely wouldn't go back to wired - well worth it to be hassle-free when digging.

Wireless headphones all the way...however

I bought a set of the early Detechnix headphones. The ones with the small headphones, and they were not really up to the job. There was an inherent fault with the transmitter which caused it to switch off without warning. This is not such a problem on an E-trac which has a constant threshold sound, but on my Nokta it was not always possible to note that the sound had gone. Also the on off switch on the headphones was flimsy and broke, just outside warranty. Expensive redundant bits of plastic.

I have also tried the receiver from the same company which when coupled with the transmitter allows you to use your favourite headphones. This seems to work Ok. As do their new full size headphones, which I have used on both the above machines. I am not convinced as to the battery life on the headphones and some the connections as not as positive as I would like.

Hope this helps.

P.S. I have now have a Deus. Job done.

I got some bluetooth APTX low latency headphones for my Equinox 600, they are great... but the lack of delay is due to the low latency feature and your detector would need to support it too.
