Gray Ghost or Similar Recommendations Please

Post by Wigeon » Fri Apr 20, 2018 11:03 am

I am looking to replace my Maz blue headphones, as they are getting worse for wear.

Looking for good quality, clear and loud, ideally with separate volume control on each side.
I have hearing loss in both ears but one ear better than the other, owing to too much shooting as a youth, without hearing protection.

The Gray Ghost NDT seem to fit the bill but expensive (cheapest price on MDF shop ::g ).

I have had a look through our forum but wonder what member's views are now and would you recommend them ?

Similarly, advice on other similar 'good quality' headphones welcomed.

For use with E-Trac and the Deteknix wireless transmitter/receiver units.

Might be worth taking your machine to a detector shop and trying a few targets. They all sound slightly different. I carry some spare headphones and they sound totally different. Your brain does readjust but if you like the ones you are using I would go for the ones with a similar sound.

And are comfortable

Grey ghost are brilliant phones (I use them) However; the leads do fail overtime which is a shame!

Thanks Koala, good idea but detector shops are very thin on the ground in this part of the country.

I certainly know what you mean by different sounds as I have a set of XP Backphones for summer use and they sound very different to the MAZ ones.
