Headphone amplifier?

Post by Ugly51 » Sun Jan 13, 2019 9:38 pm

Evening all,

I am using a Fisher f75se and recently brought the Garrett z link system and a pair of grey ghost headphones. The wireless system is absolutely fantastic however the sound levels are a bit on the quiet side even when all the volume controls are wide open.
Would anyone have any experience of using a amplifier to boost the output to the headphone?
Many thanks

An amplifier? I hope you're not serious.
The Garrett system should be perfectly capable of driving your headphones loud. You've got to find out why the complete set-up isn't loud. Does it work well if you plug it into a different sound source, like a computer, or hifi system?
Presumably you don't want to open up the zlink gear. What about the Fisher - under warranty still? Do you have electronics skills ?

Thanks for your reply, having tried a no. Of different machines and also 2 different f75's it seems the detectorpro grey ghosts are not compatible with the fisher machine, however the headphone sounded fantastic on the other machines. Sending them back this week.
