My first signal was a surprise, it gave the same numbers as a Vicky or George penny, but on digging the signal I found a little padlock, maybe from an old bible? After this and just a few feet from the padlock I had a faint but digable signal, which produced a tiny button with silver wash on the face.
My last signal at the top end of the path produced yet another silver for the Rutus, this time a young Victoria sixpence from 1866. I have worked this same footpath many times now, but the finds keep coming
