Carbon fibre shaft survey.

Post by Easylife » Fri Sep 20, 2019 2:51 am

So carbon fibre replacement detector shafts have been out there for a quite a while now and have had time to be tried and tested by many. So would you recommend yours? And why or not whether good or bad points?

I bought the Tele-nox and am mainly not too impressed with the clamps that frequently slip so feel that there is another out there more suitable for me.

I have now two carbon fibre shafts;
Both are the universal telescopic shaft from Golden Mask.
One is already 3 years old with no problems.
Both are in use as replacement for 1: Cscope 6mxi straight shaft
2: Xp Deus shaft
For me these shafts are the best :-)

Better balance for both machines.

I have one on my nox, it looks great, is it any better than the standard shaft, not really, was it worth the extra money, not really, but it looks great ::g

I bought the Crawfords Equinox one with the detector, they also sell the shaft parts separately so got an additional lower shaft for the bigger coil. Been using it since about April and it’s all good, no movement on the clamp either.

It isn’t a crazy price either. I think the clamp parts are Minelab spares so ideal for repairs in the future.
