minelab pro swing 45 harness

Post by selectcase » Sat Jul 12, 2014 10:45 pm

although I do my best to detect with the correct posture etc I do suffer shoulder ache and back ache due mainly to a back injury from many years ago. The deus is a brilliant machine and I can use it for a few hours no problem and use the detecting buddy if my shoulder starts to ache.

however I recently bought a minelab sovereign elite and anticipating the weight I also bought the new minelab pro swing 45 harness (well it was an early birthday present)

after setting it up and spending a few hours detecting and adjusting it I can honestly say its an amazing piece of kit - I would not recommend it for a bit of light detecting but if you have a heavy machine and suffer any aches, pains and the other bungee systems don't work then try one of these. its very well thought out but you do need the minelab finds pouch if you don't want to wear an extra belt.

I can carry my finds pouch, spare batteries, my spade and trowel, pinpointer and a water bottle on it and well as swinging the elite and you cannot feel any weight. I dont care what I look like using this thing its amazing how it distributes the weight around so you don't feel it. ::g

I have a swing 45 and always used it, however I'm starting to leave it in the van nowdays. After using the ctx for a while it seems to get easier and the weight is not as noticeable. I struggled at first because I was using a Deus. I had to use the harness when I tried the 17" coil, if definitely helped then.

I use army webbing kit and a bungee, works great.

I can be out all day swinging the 3030 with the 17" coil no trouble, plus I can carry everything else I need for the day. There is even a pocket on the shoulder strap that holds the WM10 module perfectly.

I'm in full agreement ::g There's nothing which converts more easily to the requirements for a metal detecting harness than WD webbing, whether it's 44, 58 or one of the later patterns. Why is it so practical for the job (that doesn't need answering), but it is far cheaper to buy and it's a good deal of fun working out what you want to build into it to make it a personalised bit of kit. ::g
