I try to avoid cold and windy days, I get cold immediately.

Now is the time to hit the beaches, after the storms, there are two types of storms, those that deposit sand and those that take it away. You need to make sure the sand is being stripped from the beach, sounds like yours is adding sand which is why your now not finding stuff, its getting buried deeper out of detector range ::g

it all depends on the beach weather and conditions if the beach is stripped after a storm its worth a go but if sanded up your wasting time really you need to get on the wet sand/clay its all pending conditions on a beach everyday is diffrent

also the type of target if its a heavy ring say 10grams plus it will be deep it is easy to find light weight rubbish like coins foil etc on the sand even when sanded up but to get at the deep better signals/finds you need the correct condition yes you can still find light weight rings in the wrong condition the good stuff sinks deep same applys inland too a light hammy will be few inches a gold coin will be deep

Basically it boils down to keep on plugging away until patterns start to emerge i.e. you get to know your beaches. There will be blank days and productive days but, for me anyway, any day on a beach is a good one! ::g

A bit like the old John Denver song.............."Some days are diamond and some days are stone".

As for my regular beach........"Some days are coins and some days are projectiles".

But a very rare day may be bling! ::g
