The AT Pro is a great machine, I use mine on wet and dry sand, and have used it in the sea also.
As with many machines, the one thing that lets it down in my opinion are the headphones, thin cable and quite dull in sound.
I bought the headphone adaptor cable and some Chefphones CP2s, this made a big difference and my finds rate went up even more.
A super all round machine, highly recommended.

I would ditch the headphones though - they are a real pain. They are comfortable enough but the coiled cable is too stiff and short. I recommend going wireless if your budget will cover that.

I have the AT PRO detector. I am starting to learn it / use it. I have bought a headphone adapter and use machine with wireless headphones. All works great ! and no wires attaching me to the machine !jbarry wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2017 1:18 amHay there, I'm thinking about getting a Garrett AT PRO. Can I get some feedback, positive or negative from you guys that have them and are familiar with them. Currently I have a Minelab E-Trac and its a great machine but i'm looking for something that's waterproof in shallow water. Thanx Joe B.
Will be trying the beach soon as I have no permissions :-(
Only 2 days ago I found an 1872 silver Florin coin on a beach, it was about 7 inches down and in the damp sand area.... gave a 86-87 id.
Try and use PRO mode in the damp / wet sand as in normal mode can get a bit crazy with false signals (like you are surrounded by coins everywhere lol)
I wouldn't swap my AT Pro for another machine!
