Garrett AT Max
How come there is no page for the Max?
I’ve now done all my YouTube trawls, and watched and read everything I can find on them but would have liked to get some buzz from current users before I part with some hard earned cash !
Any feedback will be welcome.
Cheers

Re: Garrett AT Max
Hi
Bob
My pal has just switched up from a Garrett 400
Which I never thought he would!
He’s out at least four times a week.
wireless headphones are a big pull.
Results seem the same on arable-
Pulling up goodies from good depths
yet to see how it goes on pasture land.
Cheers

Thanks Lowland
Good to hear your pal is happy with it..
As luck would have it my local permission is all pasture fields!
I’m looking to replace my old Whites XLT and the Max looked like a good option and simple to use - I’m not into doing too much fiddling or tweaking !!!
Cheers.

He does no fiddling or tweaking that I’ve noticed

He really loves his 400...and it’s never come back out to play.
The build quality looks good too.
He got his as a package deal with pinpointer headphones etc
Seemed a bargain.
All the best and as they say happy hunting

Thanks Lowland. Good to hear your comment on build quality.
From all the AT Max instruction videos there is not a lot of adjustment to do and what there is is very transparent and intuitive. That’s what I’m looking for - simples

Re: Garrett AT Max
I love my at max,
I use it in zero mode with zero discim most of the time but if I am on a field with constant non stop iron sounds I stick it in custom mode with discrim set at 30 and nothing notched out.
I came to mine from an at max which was a fantastic machine but wanted a detector with built in wireless for headphones and the Garrett ms3 headphones are very good.
My at max is nown as old sparky as it is far from silent in operation and likes to spit and blip, but with use it becomes very easy to understand what it is telling you.

Re: Garrett AT Max
Has anyone compared the At pro with the new At max for depth etc?
I’m currently running an old At pro but it seems to be playing up a bit lately (like it’s tunnel by out of batteries or a loose connection, it beeps constantly even when held in the air and with both my coils)
I’m looking to upgrade and I like the garrets.

Re: Garrett AT Max
It could be a loose wire/bent terminal within the cable plug or socket. Check the coil to control box connection for tightness first, then wobble the cable at the point where it enters the the plug. They are the two usual suspects, If either are at fault, it's a fairly simple DIY soldering job.olstonsurf wrote: ↑Wed Dec 26, 2018 1:42 pmHas anyone compared the At pro with the new At max for depth etc?
