Garrett GTP 1350 Threshold and British coin set up

Post by Markjoe0104 » Sun Feb 10, 2013 11:24 am

Hi all.
having recently brought a GTP 1350 as a up grade from a ace 250, i am now trying to get my head around it. I under stand how it works as it is similar to the ace, but I do not under stand the idea
of the threshold. Why would you want to go round with the machine making a constant hum in your ear when it goes ping when you go over target with or with out the threshold on? seems a bit silly to me. Also does any one have a tested and proved custom set up for british coin shooting as I keep trying but it always seems to be hit an miss.

Cheers Mark

I think the theory is that your ears can detect changes to a low constant sound more readily than you hear very quiet signals with no threshold. In theory you then "hear" those very quiet deep signals.

Yes that makes sense what you are saying. I guess i'll just have to try and put up with the hum and see what if difference it makes.
