Pro Pointer voltage.

Post by morris minor » Thu Dec 07, 2017 11:29 am

My Garrett pro pointer seems to be working ok. However yesterday I was getting the odd random signal for no obvious reason. I checked the voltage of the pp9 battery and it was 8.6v, is it time for a new battery ?

thanks Denis.

As soon as the battery of my Garrett AT Pro pointer fades slightly, the thing very soon becomes usable, so always carry a spare. A good fresh battery should sort it. You could still probably use the old one in something else. ;)

Definitely change the battery. I was tearing my hair out with mine whilst assuming (assume makes an ASS out of U and ME) that the battery was good. Changed to a new coppertop and perfect!!

I wondered how the Garrett pointers would like rechargeable batteries but think that they have a slightly lower voltage. So played safe and ordered some of the Duracell Industrial (new name for the Procell) batteries. :D
