Pro pointer 2 problem

Post by Spade » Sat Mar 03, 2018 10:43 pm

Hi everyone, the vibrate has stoped working on my pro pointer 2, I have dismantled it and can't see any problems, I've tried new batteries. Any ideas? I'd rather fix it than buy a new one.
Thanks

Assume that its out of warranty? I have the reverse issue ... the vibrate works, but the sound doesnt.. after a while your brain will learn just to rely on the sound, and you wont notice vibrate is missing. Saves buying a new pointer.

No warranty, it's annoying that the vibrate won't work, the speaker is always full of mud and I have terrible hearing, I'd rather the vibrate work and not the sound :D

Take it you've tried turning it back on in software. Button press sequence.

They are known for getting themselves in a knot. Although it normally loosing there sensitivity setting

Top tip is to use the spikes from hawthorn and blackthorn bushes to clean out the speaker holes mid-dig.

The vibrate is just a motor does it spin freely by hand

If it does you could unsolder and apply voltage directly to test it. Normally they are 3V

Replacements should be available from mouser farnell rs and the like
