See this is what fascinates me about metal detecting.
Your in the middle of a massive field as far as the eye can see, yet you pull up an ancient gold coin! It gets you thinking doesnt it, who did that belong too originally? Was it a rich landowner out shooting game, and he dropped it unknowingly while reloading? Was it a well off farmer that lost it while tending those fields and it left his family with no money for food for a month? Or maybe a large manor used to be in that location, long since demoloished and this is just a bit of spare change that was lost down a crack in the floorboards?
I mean, its a piece of solid gold, yes its not huge, but who WOULDNT notice they're missing gold??

Nice find. Still waiting to find my first gold celtic in 40 years. Looking forward to the release of the new machine. I'll be buying one for sure
