Automatic ground balance on MP V2 ?

Post by sirbedevere »

At the bottom of the Nexus MP V2 metal detector box there is a toggle switch that switches to automatic ground balance mode. I don't notice that the sensitivity of the machine is worse than in manual mode. I couldn't find anything about this switch in the machine's manual. Do you know anything about it?

The Nexus MP range 'does' not have Auto GB,the switch below the control box is purely AM mode and discrimination,it's best and has been mentioned run it for maximum depth in AM mode.

The Nexus Credo if i recall correctly does have a auto GB but for maximum depth manual GB wins hands down every day.

That 3 position switch on that V2 is just basically a switch for either Discrimination mode or AM mode, the central position is AM.On the version 2 the 3rd position i think was a audio function which they had on original MP model.
Georgie, decided to continue using it on V2 and V3,i could be totally wrong on this one but Nexus offered a upgrade from the original MP to the version 2 for a small upgrade price and this could be one of those machines, how ever the none of the Nexus MP models ever had auto GB as you have suggested.

The Credo model did but like all Nexus machine to gain maximum depth you have to GB them to the ground conditions that you are detecting on that day.

You are right, it really is STANDARD MP, not MP V2. I tested the operation of the switch: the switch has two positions, to the left ALL METAL, but only if DUAL TONE is not switched on. If DUAL TONE is on, it will overwrite ALL METAL.
How do you know that it has been UPDATED to V2? Is it worth updating? What will change with V2 UPDATE?

A similar MP or possibly the same one is for sale on the 4 letter website starting with a E and ending in a Y,the reason is that the top left hand mineral control knob has the middle alloy piece missing.
