Worthing Beach

Post by PeterJames »

Hi all, I'm just getting started in metal detecting.
I live in Worthing and I just thought I'd pass on some information about detecting on Worthing beach, after seeing a few posts where some people weren't sure if it is allowed or not. I phoned the beach officer at the Coastal Office who confirmed it is perfectly legal as long as detectorists follow the usual guidelines (filling in holes, bombs!, treasure etc) He was very helpful and the number is on the Adur-Worthing website.

And you'll hopefully have a detector that works well in wet sand at low tide, unless you fancy negotiating the pebbles....
