Eddy farthing for ID if possible please

Post by Mick James »

Found today in a maize stubble field in Gloucestershire.
Detector, Deus Xp, 11” X35 coil, prog 9 with 98 gain, 25kHz.
Found bent now flat and I believe its an Edward farthing. If its possible to discern which Edward that would be great, thank you.
The reverse appears to show TAS DON rather than TAS LON

Excuse my ignorance but why are they called a 'Florin' halfpennies as they doesn't seem to have any unusual details?
