I have been searching a large field, that has not been ploughed for a while, but still has short, hard stubble.
In the middle of the field, in a random fashion, there are raised areas, roughly 18 inches square.
I never took any pics at the time, wish I had, as we wont be back there for a while.
Any ideas? I know its not much to go on, but someone on here might have come across similar.
Thanks guys
Ray

Couldn't say what it might be, but lumps, bumps, slopes etc are always the first areas I look. Even if it's a more modern feature , if the ground has been dug and disturbed it may bring the older stuff closer to the surface

This is so true, I once found a Queen Anne halfpenny (I think it was) 'eyes only' sat in the side of a mole hill. I've always checked them since with the detector when I come across them with no similar finds to date! A disservice is no service at all.
