Large bronze/brass ring

Post by Tyttenhanger »

Hi, found this large, solid and heavy bronze/brass ring on an arable field in Hertfordshire a number of years ago.
Other finds on the field go back to Roman and Celtic times.
Would be grateful for any thoughts.
Many thanks
Mike

A similar thing happened to me a few years ago. It turned out that what I thought was a forged Edward the Confessor penny was genuine and had been turned into a brooch in antiquity! Result 😁.
Nokta Legend, LG35, LG28 & LG24 coils + Accupointer.
C-Scope CS6MXi.

Previously, early 80s to early 90s top-end C-Scopes and Tesoros. Early 90s onwards, several Whites "big box" detectors including the wonderful V3i - which is much missed.
