Beautiful little bottle fragment for ID please.
I found this while working and, after a clean, it's showing to be a very attractive little thing.
Any ideas what it might've once been? There are no marks on the base and I don't imagine it held much volume.
Thanks
Paul.

Interesting. At first I thought maybe a broken part of an intaglio but it's a bit big for that. Could it be a fish or even a pineapple design? ![ThumbsUp [81/]](./images/smilies/81_EmoticonsHDcom.png)

I was reminded of the Christian fish symbol at first, but I'm not sure how old the symbol is.

I think that it's a broken vintage scent bottle? I've had a few similar ones in the past.

Anything from Victorian to mid-20th century would be my guess.rossi46 wrote: Thu Feb 27, 2025 2:57 pm Ah, thankyou. That makes sense, re the small volume.
Modern?

You can just about see it in the first photo. Completely flat with zero marks or shapes.

Ok, the base and lip are the best way to date a bottle, a seam going diagonally (cross hinge) or rough bit in the middle (pontil) is often ground flat on early perfumes you also see this on bottles of holy water people brought back from visiting holy sites, interesting find.rossi46 wrote: Thu Feb 27, 2025 7:08 pm You can just about see it in the first photo.
