Racer 2 headphones
Hello. I have recently bought a racer 2. I've given up trying to pair the red edition headphones I bought. Probably wrong ones or something, but even using the wired headphone jack is a Problem, because the only way I can get sound to come through headphones is if I slowly draw the plug out of jack and stop when it comes through, I've tried two headphones and different quarter jacks and it's still the same. Does anyone know if theres a spray that's safe to use that might help

I think the headphones you have are for the original red Racer which were a form of bluetooth if I recall
the next set of headphones released were wireless 2.4ghz which you require.... I think
.... however you have the older version of the Racer 2 which has the dongle so is it still bluetooth or the 2.4ghz ? I think it should be 2.4ghz but am unsure and cannot personally remember on that early version ![Thinking [42/]](./images/smilies/42_EmoticonsHDcom.png)

Thank mrix. I've tried everything to get them to pair up but on luck, tbh I'd settle for getting the wired headphones jack working 100%. I was thinking of a light touch of wd40 on jack adapter then plug it in. But don't know if that's good idea or not

What you need is something like electrical contact cleaner which does not have any oily residue and dries instantly, something like Isopropyl Alcohol 99.9% but there are countless other brands.
Maybe you could replace the jack plug itself which should not be much of a job I would not of thought ? well that`s if your sure the jack plug seems more likely to be the issue.

Have you checked the headphone jack is stereo and not mono? (2 or 1 insulating bands on the
jack-plug. Whether a new or s/h purchase, contact your nearest dealership (by phone/email (if not locally sited), they are always available to answer such questions as compatible headphones and the like
Cheers Eric.

Thanks sweepstck and mrix. I'll try both contact Cleaner and check jack. Itd be worth fixing if it is broke seems to work drawing plug back a bit. But it's not ideal

The symptoms you describe suggest there's a compatibility problem between jack plug and socket ie - mono versus stereo
Cheers Eric
Edit - There's also a possibility that the contact point within the female socket have become a loose fit requiring the socket to be removed (simple job) and gently eased closer to provide better contact with the jack. Eric

Cheers sweepstck. Maybe id be better investing in proper detecting headphones instead of adapter. Thanks again for help

Well after unplugging the wired headphones the jack seems to have sorted itself! I also had the wireless ones going at one point then it stopped, so as the wired jack is working I'm sticking with that, had a try on land today and got a few coins at good depths and bits of scrap, I'm very impressed with this machine, so it turned out ok , I reburied a 20p I'd found at a deep depth. And came to the conclusion to just stick with the stock coil. It goes way deeper than I want to dig, thanks for the advice and replies. And hope to be posting some interesting finds soon
