, I’ve got the garate ace 200i.not sure how to have the settings on it.you guys obviously know your stuff so any advice at all would be great. Thanks

The Garrett Ace series are great starter machines, and have found lots of good stuff, and are fantastic value for money IMHO. I started with the 250 and did well with it.

You want "advice on how to stop digging up rubbish". First of all most beginners dig "rubbish" so do not worry too much, experience and knowing your machine is important and comes with practice.
Most importantly it depends on what you call "rubbish" .....
If you mean iron, then you probably have the settings wrong .... see the website above!.
If you mean things like copper wire then you should be digging it !!. ANY machine, even the very expensive top of the range ones, at best can only identify the metal - copper could be a bit of "rubbish" wire or a "good" coin, it has to be dug.
