With reference to Hammymans 'test' post:
I'm not a Deus user, so I may be wrong on this, but: If increasing the transmit power does actually do just that, then this would help when electrical interference was present. It increases signal to noise ratio. If, however the depth limit is caused by the ground pickup ( ie. you can't distinguish the target signal because it is smaller than the ground signal) then increasing transmit power won't help, as it will boost up the target signal and the ground signal the same amount, leaving you back where you started.
It may help in true all-metal mode, where the ground signal can be 'cancelled-out' more effectively.

Thanks Hammyman for that posting, very interesting and copy and pasted and printed!
Thanks also Fusion

I would think if increasing the Transmit Power it would drag in interferrence and making trashy & heavy mineralised land worse causing more false's. Thats just my thoughts. But with adjust to a lower Descrim and a sensible Sensitivity there could be a balance ratio to make it stable. All really needs to be put to test in the field. I will be only trying one thing out at a time though.

Appreciate you time and effort the above though Hammyman. I hadn't really managed to get out and test the programme you sent me becuase my Remote control was faulty and had to resort to my Euro ace. Your a Star at the end of the day and appreciate your input and Kmarsh valued help <:-P .

Thanks & Cheers

Steven :))

hi i hope all you deus owners are happy i posted earlier to thank hammyman but it never posted onto the board grrrrrrr anyway thankyou for your efforts in bringing us the results of which i shall be reading in about another two weeks when i have mastered the basics'.
I have done several tests on the phone with nigel today which have not worked out quite as they should so i will be sendIng back my coil and controller for some TLC to regtons who have been very helpful in my quest to get some answers to the lack of depth on standard programes.
I am only sending my standard coil and control unit so will be able to continue with my detecting and learning with headphones and large coil that should be interesting as i will dig by sound alone and i am quite looking forward to being able to concentrate on the tone only targets amazing that you can have the unit looked at but still continue detecting defo a plus for the deus
I have been asked to punctuate a little more so it can be disciphered more easily and so not to dissappoint i have moved a few things down to make it easier to understand sorry as i did learn to punctuate at school just dont seem to bother on here JUST SO LAZY

if you don't know now I will say it again. I am greatfull for your detailed knowledge and thank you for taking the time to publish them Test results.

Steven I am totally chilled.Look at this from my point of view.I pm'd you a good deep prog' for pasture(a prog' I have used for months, with good results)A week or so later you are back on here asking for settings suitable for pasture, having not even tried the prog' I offered you.(I realise your machine has been back for repair, and you haven't had a chance to try the prog') I would totally understand if you tried the prog' and decided it wasn't for you.But it appears to me you have dismissed it,without even trying it.Rgds Chillyman.

Good luck everyone with your Deus. It is a super machine, but so are many others. As I have said, I migrated from the Goldmaxx Power and so I was able to slip the Deus into GMP as I already knew the tones and what to dig or ignore. It is a machine that needs to be used for many hours so that you get the feel for it. No disrespect intended at anyone, but you can read a manual from cover to cover, many times over and fall asleep. Having read what you need, you then have to get out on the fields and try it out, then get back to the manual and start making up some comparisons OF YOUR OWN. What works for one person may not always suit the detecting skills or techniques of another. Re the deep finds, the tones will be there but as hammyman says, the ear and brain have to be alert to them. I found my stater amongst heavy iron, took two spadefuls to get down to it and I was pleased I had the patience to go slow and LISTEN HARD. Its made me go even slower now =)) =)) =)) =))
We all need to get a XP rally organised and then we can all meet up and chat things through, a forum debate will only help people so far. If we do get organised, I will buy everyone a pint!

Hello Hammyman, yes I see your point sorry and I do admit I haven't been out in the field long enough with it, from what i remember I tried it for an hour but also why my remote was dodgy. Not knowing what if any detecting affect i was loosing out on.

If not Wednesday then it will defo be Thursday where I will have some hours out with it, Promise and re input your settings for Pasture.

Yes, Liam also agree about the manual being boring, and want to jump ahead to catch up with the more advanced users like hammyman. I agree with everything you say, just from time to time, i try to reach too far too soon.

Thanks

Steven.

Just another small heads up for the new users. The coil bolt is useless!!It will only tighten to a set torque.Once exceeded, you end up with a floppy coil.It might not have happened yet,but it will! You can buy a replacement from Regtons for about a fiver.Or........you can change to these; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-Nylon-Plas ... 3f0b3f6e2b" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I have used one of these for over a year on the little coil, and since January on the big coil. They work, and are cheap as chips. ;) :D
