Is it possible to detect on beaches in Dorset?
e.g. on the Jurassic Coast around Durdle Door & Lulworth Cove?
It appears to be Crown Estate on the map.

Be careful and phone the local council office etc. Some parts are classified as a ""World heritage "" status and may well have all sorts of restrictions placed on them.

I'm getting very confused re, the Duchy of Cornwall owned beaches and what's owned by The Crown?

I read here, one needs a permit for the Duchy of Cornwall owned beaches, and I read there, that I don't, unless, privately owned, leased, or SSSI, National Trust, and Bob's Your Uncle, and so forth.

I could lay awake all night (before my holiday in Cornwall) and probably will, wondering if I'd got the gist of what I can or can't do on a beach in Cornwall with a metal detector. :)@'

This Cornwall.gov.uk Metal Detecting on Corn ... il Beaches with a glass of salt water, may get me to an untroubled deep sleep, but then again? [42/]

I'm going to assume I can, if not leased, privately owned, SSSI, or owned by Bob's your Prince Charming royalty ect, ect ,ect.

Oh, and on it goes :~#)

My link to the Cornwall Council official website not playing nice, maybe it's me, or I broke a forum rule there [54/] so me either way @#p[

But info can easily be found with a Google search should anyone else find useful. [81/]

The following links may be of interest regarding detecting on N.I coastal areas, this is for guidance only and anyone wishing to detect would need to check any local restrictions.

The coastal map shows Blackpool beach not purple but a quick email to the council confirmed you can detect there.
