Aluminium alley sums it up :D.

You did well to pull that lot out. Was there a couple of weeks ago and from the high tide mark to a third way down the beach was covered in rotten seaweed, and it ponged ;;z

'Ell yea, Jenny just as bad, had my worse session ever there.

i would have thought there would be brill finds at Jenny, being so close to the city and must have been visited by thousands of locals over the years.

There was hut on there called Smithys hut used to sell food not there now used to find tons of spends there that was thirty years ago a right tip now keep off the cafe is on the cliff top now so no one goes to the beach much.Bovy used to be very pop beach in the 1920 -30 days trips from the Hoe to the landing stage there that's the large block on the beach. ::g

Ah, I always wondered why that block was there ::g.
I do remember my mother taking me to bovvy by ferry, leaving the Mayflower Steps and landing at Bovvy Pier then walking to the beach.

Pity the beaches in the sound don't the weather on them there must be some very old finds but you need the beach to be ripped open to get at it will never happen now we have the breakwater did find a hammered gold coin in the sound must be more there. ::g

The sound must be full of tasty and interesting goodies, just imagine all the ships that were lost over the years. Imagine the gear in the Barbican with all the history it's had.
Like you said about the breakwater, it's done too good a job.

Oliver, i know your into river detecting, have you ever had a try at the bridge at Marsh Mills and the Ford that used to cross the Plym at Marsh Mills. Or is that to far covered with mud since the china clay works started silting the Plym up.

Yep when they built the new fish market and built the lock i went in the mud they dug out and had a few nice things tokens and some hammered coins plus a bag of junk bling that had been dumped in the oogy.Found a cannon at Queen Ane battery in the rocks there still there to big to move was made from iron all rusty told the harbour master but when they built the yacht place there it must have been covered over. ::g

Nice one Oliver ::g,

Yup, going back to when i was a kid again, we had a few swimming spots further up the Plym, from Coypoole right up to Plymbridge.
