Hi here's my post from Frinton and Clacton beach. It has my finds for that day and the settings that I always use
http://www.metaldetectingforum.co.uk/vi ... 42&t=35082" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
On the dry sand its as balanced as it is on a field. In the wet sand its pretty jumpy and you almost have to relearn all the signals. But stick with it as its well worth the effort and gives you somewhere else to detect over the winter when you cant get on the fields
The only odd thing I find is that once you have dug the signal in wet sand its very difficult to locate the item on the surface. It seems to break up once its out of the sand so I've invested in a big plastic soil sieve from a garden centre for a tenner. Well worth having
If anyone wants anymore info feel free to ask or PM me
Cheers Tim

Sorry about that. Pet hate of mine cartridges being called bullets.....
Always ready to learn RRPG

It was a slip of the tongue really I'm a country boy and been shooting almost before I could walk, so I should have been more care full in my discription
The head stamps for the blank cases are LIA2 RG 03 and L18A1 RG 09 but no cross and circle
Cheers Tim

They are still military without the NATO stamp as indicated by the 'L' coding. The 09 one is very fresh ! 2009 ! L1A2 and L18A1 are the nomenclature for standard 5.56mm cartridges, and the RG stands for Radway Green.
